Hello my name is Freddy Haug, and for the record I think Clubhouse is a valuable asset. Today, I quote some of my call with Kyle Potter and give my thoughts on valuations.

NFTs have become all the rage. Is ownership in again? I think so!

Kyle works in the Futures market, I was able capture his comments on NFTs and their obvious speculative potential. This is the summary from our conversations.

“Essentially people are looking for alternative investments and right now people have so much money in their accounts.”

Whether it is the Bitcoin bubble or the Gamestop Squeeze, we all want in on the action.

We don’t own our cars, we don’t own our cellphones. Renting makes a lot of sense, we pay things monthly and we still get a pretty good deal.

NFTs could be a pivot back to owning assets. But why did we go back to ownership and are we only buying these assets to make a quick buck?

Ultimately, assets give us power and we want to buy them to gain power through opportunity. We are in a highly speculative market and everyone is trying to get a cut of the cheese.

The Title

Aswath Damodaran released a video in 2015, where he defined Goodwill as a plug variable. In my opinion, it sounds like a way to assess speculation.

Investopedia defines Goodwill as ,

“ […] an intangible asset for a company. It comes in a variety of forms, including reputation, brand, domain names, intellectual property, and commercial secrets.”

Every once in a while a dream product comes along. The perfect product. In a ritualistic fashion, conditions of hype meet (Twitter, News, TikTok and celebrities) to create a new bubble. Something you just know will be valuable.

It’s never hard to see a good idea, but , no matter how hard it could be, it is possible to see value before it actually exists. Those opportunities are out there.

So do you see the value in Clubhouse?

The Valuable Asset

Clubhouse is definitely in a hype cycle and so are NFTs. What is the most impressive thing about Clubhouse is its ability to have huge crowds with great conversations. I literally feel like I am on a radio show sometimes.

Now aside from the practicality and fun of this app, there are also two other things people like about Clubhouse. One, it has a ton of potential, and two, we are about to have a whole new world of audio data for Machine Learning agents to learn from.

Yup. Once again, the most valuable asset inside of a valuable asset, is you
